The Birds by Toikka collection combines Oiva Toikka's love for nature and passion for glass art. Each bird in the collection is mouthblown and handcrafted at the Iittala Glass Factory, making them unique down to the smallest detail. The collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka's hands-on approach with his team. He usually worked in the hot shop, in direct contact with the master glassblowers first at Nuutajärvi Glass Factory. Kiikkuri - the first technically demanding large bird that Toikka designed - derived part of its inspiration from his pop-inspired vases of the time. Kiikkuri is based on the archive bird shape now introduced in new appealing colours. Limited 1000 piece numbered edition is a precious gift. A personal home decoration object.
