The asymmetrically undulating collection of glass objects created by Alvar Aalto attracted international attention at the 1937 Paris World's Fair. Over the decades, the Aalto vase has become a symbol of Nordic design, where sculptural form is combined with functionality.
The new 250mm vase is based on Aalto's original sketches from the 1930s, but has been updated in terms of size to suit today's needs. Each vase is hand-made by mouth blowing into a wooden mold at the Iittala glass factory. The manufacturing method gives the vase its beautiful, vibrant and individual surface. The clear glass reflects the light wonderfully. Closed and numbered set of 2023 pieces.
